A community meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 6 regarding the proposed expansion of Woodbrook Elementary School. It will be held in Woodbrook Elementary School’s media center beginning at 6:30 p.m.
Two changes have been made to the plan for Woodbrook as the result of feedback from a February community meeting. Plans for a second floor at the school have been eliminated and the number of students who would transition to Woodbrook from Agnor-Hurt and Greer has been reduced from 300 to 200.
The expansion of Woodbrook is designed to provide more classrooms for students at three schools that are overcrowded or soon will be overcrowded. It also would eliminate the use of trailers and add three more classrooms for pre-K programs.
During our meeting on September 6, we will share the latest information about this project, including how it will impact students from all three schools. Also, you will have the opportunity to ask questions or offer additional comments. We hope you can join us.
Important: Due to the scheduling conflict between the K-2 Back to School Night at Agnor-Hurt and the Countly’s meeting at Woodbrook Elementary on Sept. 6th, Rosalyn Schmitt from Albemarle County Public Schools has agreed to attend the October 4th PTO meeting to discuss the proposed changes to Woodbrook. So, if you can’t attend the September 6 meeting at Woodbrook because you are attending Back to School Night, please come to the October 4 (6:30pm in the Agnor-Hurt library) PTO meeting for an update.
