Thank you!

It is hard to believe that we have come to the end of another school year at Agnor-Hurt Elementary.  The PTO would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to everyone who has taken time out of their busy schedules to help us achieve great things for our school.  We hope you all have a safe and fun filled summer!  See you in August!

Summer Fun… In between vacationing and relaxing, parents and school staff will be working hard over the summer to plan for next year!   If you have suggestions, questions, or want to be involved in something, please reach out to us!

We are also looking for ideas for new games for Fall Festival.  If you have ideas, please send them in!

You can e-mail us at agnorhurtpto@gmail.com .  Thank you!

Non-5th Grade Parents…

The fifth grade teachers need volunteers to set up, serve refreshments, and clean up at Graduation.  Set up needs to be done before refreshments arrive. We need servers for pizza, drinks, and cupcakes. Clean up will begin promptly at 8:30 p.m. If anyone is interested in volunteering for this event and is does not have a student graduating, contact Mrs. Brooks-Davis at  cbrooks2@k12albemarle.org

And the winners are…

Congratulations to Amelia Scheer and Katie Elise Pulliam, who were the 1st and 2nd place winners of the Spring Box Tops Contest.  Amelia, who submitted 272 box tops this semester will have the honor of being Assistant Principal for a half-day.  Katie, who submitted 199 box tops, will don the whistle as Assistant P.E. Coach for a half-day.   Thanks to both students, who collectively submitted over 700 box tops this school year.

Together, we collected over $1,500 in box tops this year and hope to build on that momentum next year, when we’ll have more exciting contests and prizes.  So, please continue to collect those box tops over the summer.  (If you collect a significant number (25+) that will expire before September, please contact the PTO President or you may email the box top coordinator through the BTFE website – once you’ve registered.)

Link Your Card Drive… Ending Soon

The PTO is hosting a “Link Your Card Drive.” We want to encourage people to link their Kroger, Harris Teeter, Giant, or Target cards to Agnor-Hurt. This is a free, easy way to raise money for our school. It doesn’t cost anything, and only takes a few minutes of your time. Our goal is to sign up 50 new participants. The first 25 people who provide proof of a new registry will be entered into a drawing to win free entry into the next Skate Night. The deadline for entry into this contest is February 20.

You may link your cards online at the store’s web site. Send in proof of your new registration to agnorhurtpto or print it out and put in the PTO mailbox at school. Or, you can link your card with our help at the 2nd/3rd grade music concert on February 10 or at National Girls & Women in Sports Night on February 11.

Save The Date – Dinner at Jason’s Deli

Jason’s Deli has agreed to do a fundraising night for us on March 6! Anyone who buys dinner between 5:00 and 10:00pm on that evening, and who mentions Agnor-Hurt Elementary School, will have 15% of their purchase donated to the school. Please pass the word along to friends and neighbors! Hope to see you there.

Stay Warm, Save Money, and Help Our School!

Here’s a novel way to support Agnor-Hurt Elementary School PTO while saving yourself some money. Sign up for a $45 Home Energy Check-Up between February 9 and 27, and LEAP will donate $10 of that to the PTO. You’ll get an evaluation of your home’s energy efficiency, the advice of one of LEAP’s Expert Energy Coaches, energy efficient products based on your home’s needs such as light bulbs, smart strips, pipe insulation and more, plus a checklist of additional energy saving measures for your home.

The value of this package is estimated at up to $250 in goods, savings, and professional advice. Because LEAPis a Participating Contractor in Dominion Virginia Power’s Home Energy Check-Up program, our price to homeowners is only $45. (You must be a Dominion Power customer to qualify.)

Get a Home Energy Check-Up from LEAP. Support your PTO. Get a lower energy bill. Visit leap-va.org/checkup or call (800) 646-0717. Be sure to mention Agnor-Hurt Elementary School when you call, and $10 of your payment will go to the school. Thank you!
