Dance Battle 2018!

Calling all 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders who enjoy dancing!  Join us for the sixth annual Dance Battle!  Agnor-Hurt is hosting, so this year will be extra special.  Students will learn a few new dances and get to take part in a variety of fun and lighthearted competition.  This event is one of the best after-school meet-ups and we hope that your child will be able to participate.

Girls & Women in Sports Night

Girls, bring your mom, your aunt, your grandma and your friends, and enjoy an evening of fun and movement in the gym!

February 7 marks the 32nd annual National Girls & Women in Sports Day!  The 2018 theme is “Play Fair, Play IX.”  For more than three decades, National Girls & Women in Sports Day has empowered women and girls to get moving, embrace physical activity and push past their limits.  The courage, confidence, and character gained through sports participation are the very tools girls need to become the strong leaders of tomorrow.

Here at Agnor-Hurt, we want to celebrate the achievements that all of our girls, their mothers, aunts, grandmothers and special friends have made.  Come on out for an evening of fun active events planned just for you!

Volleyball for 4th and 5th Graders

We are pleased to let you know that TIPS Volleyball will again be offering an after-school program this year!  It will be open to all 4th and 5th graders.  More details to come, but here are the session dates:

Volleyball for 3rd-5th Graders

TIPS now offers Intro to Volleyball Camps just for YOU!  Our TIP Top Camps introduce kids to the world of volleyball through positive, affirming activities.  Kids will experience volleyball related games to challenge and improve hand-eye coordination, personal strength, confidence, agility and much more! Fee: $40 for one-day camp from 9am – 12 noon

Through challenging games and affirming activities, your student will greatly improve their beginners’ level of volleyball skills.  Players will be challenged to achieve personal goals, build confidence, improve hand-eye coordination, personal strength and agility… all while having FUN and learning a cool sport! Registration forms available in the office!

6-Week session dates:

Session 3:  February 23rd – March 29th

Session 4:  April 12th – May 17th

Day and Time:  Tuesdays 2:30 – 3:30

Fee:  $60

 

Scholarships available. Please wear tennis shoes and bring a water bottle and healthy snack.

Jump Rope and Hoops for Heart

Save the Dates:  Hoops- Friday, February 19, 2016 and Jump-Friday, February 26, 2016

As you know, our school has always supported the American Heart Association by participating in Jump Rope For Heart and/ Hoops For Heart! This is a valuable community service program that teaches our students about heart health, while raising important funds to support research and medical advances to fight America’s #1 and #3 killers, heart disease and stroke. Our school event is quickly approaching.

TIPS Volleyball

TIPS volleyball’s next 6-week session for 3-5th graders begins Tuesday January 5th – Feb 16th and Session 3 begins February 23rd – March 29th.  All practices are at Agnor Hurt on Tuesdays immediately after school until 3:30.  We just completed a very fun and productive session and hope to see even more boys and girls taking advantage of this fun sport!!  Register now at www.TIPSvolleyball.com or ask the school office for a registration form.

6-week sessions are $60.

 

We also have monthly Saturday camps for 3rd-8th graders on January 16th and February 20th at Sutherland Middle School.

Camps run from 9-12 noon.

3rd – 5th grade camp is $40

Elks Hoop Shoot

When: Saturday, January 9, 2016

Where: St. Anne’s-Belfield School, 799 Faulconer Drive, Lower School

Time: 5:00 P.M.

This is basketball. Winner is determined by the best out of 25 free throws.

Boys and girls, ages 8-13 years of age (Must be 8 by 4-1-2016)

Winner in each age group will then advance to the DISTRICT contest which will be held in Fredericksburg, Va.   Alumni Hayden Cook advanced last year all the way to the nationals.   Great event for all!

Family Fun & Fitness Night

The Physical Education Department’s annual Family Fun and Fitness Night will be held on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 from 6:30-7:30 in the gymnasium. Agnor-Hurt families, put on your tennis shoes and come PLAY and experience an evening of fun-filled activities with a positive emphasis on physical activity and family FUN!  Parents, what a special evening for you to have the opportunity to exercise with your child. You will experience some thrilling activities that take place in our physical education classes.
